<br />5 <br /> <br />Mr Bert Horton. resident Parl-view Terrace;. inquired how IIRlch change in the landscaping <br />would occur on their side of the road if the :road were to be dedicatedo <br /> <br />Mrc Garley indicated that no changes in landscaping or vegetation would occur 0 He <br />stated that only a larger easement fay bouleifard would be provided to the City for snow <br />storage., The curb line would remain the same, <br /> <br />My, Lloyd Nielsen, resident of Parkview Terrace, indicated that he appreciated <br />MYa Garley's situation. however, if the lots are sold as R~2 property the development <br />would occur on a piece meal bas is 0 He said he was also concerned about the quality of <br />the homes which would be builto <br /> <br />MYa Rukavina indicated a nice condominum could be constructed on the propertyo However, <br />he felt that M,r, Gar ley has been paying taxes for several years and has been unable to <br />dev-e:lop the property for an R~3A useo He was therefore inclined to favor the application, <br /> <br />Mrs Cushing stated she would vote against the rezoning because she favored maintaining <br />zonings unless there was a good reason to change 0 She did not feel it was the City's <br />responsibility to protect the speculatoL <br /> <br />Mro V Johnson stated that from a planning point of view the City is enhanced by pre~ <br />serving the R-3A zoning and that he opposed the rezoning 0 <br /> <br />Recorrunendation <br /> <br />ML Rukavina moved and Mro Mastel seconded, that the Corrnnission recoITmend approval of <br />Cal Garley's request for preliminary plat and rezoning from R~ 3A to R~2 at the 2600 <br />Block of Oxforda Roll Call, Ayes: Go Johnson, Rukavina and MasteL Nays: Simons, <br />Cushing and Va Johnsono <br /> <br />Planning File 1017 ~ Michael Mlllinix request for special use permit at 2755 Long Lake <br />Road <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr, tv1ullinix ind1.cated that the Corrnnission members had !ecei ved information which outlines <br />the nature of their request and that if they had any questions he would be happy to answer <br />them, <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />My c Dahlgren indIcated that the applicant had originally proposed two uses for the property <br />that were permitted uses in the B~ 3 zone, Later Taeon Industries, the parent company, <br />also proposed engine rebuilding~ outsIde storage and sales and service of heavy equipment <br />which require a special use in the Bc3 zone, <br /> <br />MIs Dahlgren recommended that if the special use were to be considered favorably that <br />several conditions should be considered 0 He stated that without such conditions the pro~ <br />posed usage would be incompatible with the other uses in the area 0 <br /> <br />Mr, Chuck Schumacher~ representing the applicant, indicated that the conditions were <br />tmderstandable but that Tacon Industries would not be able to operate their business <br />with the proposed conditionso <br />
