Planning File 1079 - Interstate Detroit Deisel request for special use permit at 1975 03kcrest Presentation Mr 0 Jean Parranto represented the owners of Interstate Diesel and indicated that they were requesting a special use permit for a repair of engines in an I-I district. 'Ihe building in which the repair is to take place is the fonner I.arrett1' s Trucking building located on Oakcrest Avenue. He indicated that the building was proposed to be used for diesel engine repair in which the tractor unit no:rmally associated with an over-the-road semi-truck would be brought into the shop and have the engine rebuilt. '!his would be an improverrent over the existing situation which has outdoor storage in that only the tractors ~u1d be brought in for repair and it is not envisioned that any of th- inoperative vehicles would be stored outside for the length of time that is nCM being experienced at the sane site. Discussion Mr. Krarrer read a letter that was sent fran the Holiday Inn North located at 2540 North Cleveland Avenue in which they indicated their opposition to the proposed use and fw:ther state that it was their hope that an office type of use or oonmercial use could be accanplished in this building.
