Roseville Planning Comnission Minutes
Wednesday, May 3, 1978

'Ihe May 3, 1978, regular rreeting of the Roseville Planning Camnission was
called to order by Clairrnan V. Johnson at 7:35 P.M.

M:m'bers present: Rukavina, G. Johnson, Dressler, CUshing, Mastel, Sim:>ns
and V. Johnson

~rs absent: None

Staff present: HONard Dahlgren, Charlie Honchell, Steve North

Approval of Minutes

Mr. Rukavina rroved and !-1r. G. Johnson seconded, that the minutes of the
regular rreeting of AprilS, 1978, be approved. Roll Call, Ayes: Rukavina,
G. Johnson, Dressler, Cushing, Mastel, Simons and V. Johnson. Nays: None.

Planning File 1040 - MurlONski & Reiling request for preliminary plat
between Josephine Road, County Foad C-2, Iexington
and Nerrill

Presentation

Mr. V. Johnson indicated that there had been considerable discussion regarding
this application at the last Planning Conmission rreeting and that the appli-
cation was continued to provide an opportunity for additional information to be
gathered on the ponding requirements for the property.

Mr. Honchell stated that the applicant had retained the firm of Short, Elliott,
Hendrickson and Associates to review the ponding needs for the property. The
study shONed that the area previously designated for ponding on Mr. . MurlONski' s
property was adequate to handle a 10 year storm, and with routine construction
and special rrethods, could be utilized to handle a 100 year storm. The ponding
previously proposed for !-1r. Reiling's property was of sufficient size to handle
a 10 year storm for the runoff of both Mr _ Murlcwski' s and Nr. Reiling's
property. If a 100 year storm design were desirErl, the additional area north
of County Road C- 2 and between the curve of Nillwocrl could be utilized to rreet
the corrbined needs of the !-1urlONSki and Reiling property. If the ponds on the
Reiling land would be used only for runoff fran his property, the 100 year
storm could be easily handled.

Mr. Honchell indicatErl that the probability of the need for constructing
this ponding is slight because the pJ.ce Creek Watershed District has indicated
a conceptual agreerrent on the overall plan to divert the water over to the
Little Lake Josephine swarrpy area. '!he watershed district last week obtained
the federal grant approval and has ordered preparation of final plans for this
portion of the project. A formal hearing for the project has been established
for August 2.
