<br />-6- <br /> <br />Mr. SirrDns stated that in order to gain IIDre control over the design of the <br />development that a planned unit development with a special use permit might <br />be a good tool. <br /> <br />Mr. M::Guire requested that a 20 foot utility easerrent be provided between Lots <br />2 and 3, Block 1. <br /> <br />Mr. John Gable, 1038 County Road B-2, presented a petition opposing the rezoning <br />with 101 signatures representing 62 properties within 350 feet of the property <br />proposed to be rezoned. <br /> <br />Mr. Bruce Johnson, inquired if an extension of Oxford through to County !bad B- 2 <br />was necessary. <br /> <br />Mr. Michaels indicated that the extension of Oxford would cost him approxinately <br />$15,000 and that the City was requiring the extension of the street. <br /> <br />Mr. M::Guire indicated that the coop1etion of Oxford through to County Road B- 2 <br />would provide an additional exit for the residents in the neighborhood to the <br />north and would also provide for water and sewer nains. <br /> <br />Mr. Bruce Johnson indicated that he would prefer Oxford not be extended through <br />to County Road B- 2. <br /> <br />Judy Abbott, 1024 Transit, asked if the rezoning to R-2 were not approved, what <br />would be done with the prOPerty. <br /> <br />Mr. Michaels indicated that they as property owners had not discussed what would <br />be done if the rezoning were denied. <br /> <br />Mr. Sch10ter, 1046 County Road B-2, indicaterl that they have lived there for 30 <br />years waiting for single family homes and that's what they feel should be built. <br /> <br />Mr. Winters, 1070 County Road B-2, stated that the area is surrounded by R-1 zoning <br />and he preferred it that way. <br /> <br />Mr. V. Johnson asked if Mr. Winters would be willing to consider a planned unit <br />deve10ptent for the duplexes. <br /> <br />Mr. Winters indicated that he would not. <br /> <br />Mr. John SWesey, 1008 Transit, indicated that the Corrmission had a responsibility <br />to the people and that the people did not favor this proposal. <br /> <br />Mr. Lyle Phenger, 2431 Clurchill, stated that the neighborhood has been waiting <br />for single family homes for a long ti.rre and that's what should be constructed. <br /> <br />Mr. Gable indicated that he felt Mr. ~chae1s also builds good single family <br />homes and that's what the neighborhood wants. <br /> <br />Mr. Sch10ter inquired if County Road B-2 would also be upgraded at this ti.rre. <br /> <br />Mr. r.t::Guire responded that there were no plans to do so. <br />
