Mastel asked if it would be possible to put a restriction on the days of the week. <br /> <br />Mr. Dahlgren indicated that just about aIrj condition can be attached to a special use <br />perrni t. <br /> <br />Mr. Vern Johnson asked if there could be a tine limit attached to the permit. <br /> <br />Mr. Dahlgren indicated that there could be and that it would be reasonable to expect <br />reco'Very of costs to Mrs. Lindahl in 2 - 3 years. <br /> <br />At this point there were a nunber of questions from some of Mrs. Lindahl's neighbors. <br />John Wheaton indicated concern over the traffic in the cul de sac and the safety of <br />children. Bonnie Wentsill indicated that she was a~inted with other residential <br />beauty shops and that there were no problems in this regard. Mr. Linden Lang further <br />reiterated the traffic problem. Mr. Roger Josephson indicated that he had been in contact <br />with several realtors who had told him that he could suffer some depreciation on his hone. <br />Maxine Wortmann indicated ooncem over water pressure in the area and that the additional <br />use of water by Mrs. Lindahl could add to the problem. <br /> <br />Mr. Honchell, at this point addressed the question of water pressure and explained that <br />to a large degree the problem had to do with sane erratically operating purrps in the area. <br /> <br />At this point Mrs. Wheaton presented a petition that she had put together in which several <br />neighbors had indicated opposition to the Lindahl request. <br /> <br />Mr. Rukavina opinioned that traffic didn't appear to present as great a problem as had been <br />indicated. <br /> <br />Mr. Vem Johnson opinioned that he was reluctant to faust anything onto the neighborhood <br />that the neighbors didn r t want. <br /> <br />Mrs. Cushing indicated that she thought there was sorre over concern on the pal.t of the <br />neighborhood and that the proolens brought up weren I t as severe as the neighbors seened <br />to th~. <br /> <br />Mr. Si.:rrons indicated that he was not convinced that things were as bad as neighbors <br />seerred to think and that he did not think that the problem of devaluation of neighboring <br />houses would be a problem. <br /> <br />Recomrendation <br /> <br />Mr. G. Johnson xroved and Mr. Si.:rrons seconded, that the Comnission reccmrend approval <br />of the Patricia Lindahl request for a special use permit for a beauty shop in a residence <br />at 323 Grandview with the conditions that there be a three year limit placed on the <br />special use permit and that no signs be permitted. Roll Call, Ayes: Rukavina, Cushing, <br />Mastel, SiIrons, G. Johnson. Nays: Dressler and V. Johnson. <br /> <br />Mrs. Dressler then indicated that she was very reluctant to approve anything when so <br />many of the neighbors were opposed. Mr. Vern Johnson indicated that he had wished the <br />matter could have been resolved with the neighbors prior to the hearing. Mr. G. Johnson <br />indicated he thought the neighborhood should try to provide a rrore organized opposition <br />when this matter cones before the Council. <br />
