<br />Foseville Planning Conmission Minutes <br />Wednesday, Noverrber 7, 1979 <br /> <br />'Ibe Novenber 7, 1979, regular rreeting of the Roseville Planning Comnissio n was called <br />to order by Chainnan V. Johnson at 7 :30 P.M. <br /> <br />Menbers present: Mastel, Rukavina, Sirrons, Cushing, Dressler, G. Johnson and <br />V. Johnson. <br /> <br />Menbers absent: None <br /> <br />Staff present: Council liaison Al Kehr, Howard Dahlgren, Charles Honchell, <br />David Drcwn and Steve North <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Mr. Rukavina m::>ved and Mr. Sirrons seconded, that the minutes of the regular rreeting <br />of October 2, 1979, be approved. Roll Call, Ayes: Mastel, Rukavina, SiIIDns, Cushing, <br />Dressler, G. Johnson and V. Johnson. Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 1233 - Robert Hurd request for special use permit and variance to <br />sign setback at 2087 Snelling <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Dahlgren indicated that the applicant proposes to rerrove the existing Mr. Donut <br />and construct a new Mr. Donut and also a Churches Chicken Restaurant. 'Ihe parking on <br />the property will be extended to the west arrl the ~Donald' s Restaurant trash receptacle <br />will also be m::>ved farther to the west. Mr. Dahlgren indicated that the applicant pro- <br />poses to open up an access from this property to the other restaurants to the north. <br />'Ibis access will perrni t traffic to IIDve from County Road B to ~Donalds through the rear <br />portion of these lots. Mr. Dahlgren indicated that the variance requested for sign set- <br />back would place the two proposed pylon signs in line with other existing signs in the <br />area 0 <br /> <br />Mr. Drown stated that the applicant proposes to !rove the curb line on the Snelling <br />Avenue Service Road to the west. 'Ibis will enhance the traffic pattern on the service <br />road 0 Mr. Drcwn cort'm2Ilted that there was another section of curb on the property that <br />should also be m::>ved. 'Ihere has been no drainage plan sub:nitted at this tine. <br /> <br />Mr 0 Hurd indicated they would work with the Public Works Depa.rtIrent on developrrent of <br />the drainage plan. He indicated that he saw no problem with the additional change in <br />the curb line as suggested by Mr. Drcwn. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mr. Rukavina inquired why there were two pylon signs proposed. <br /> <br />Mr. Hurd responded that it was difficult to have both of the restaurants on one pylon <br />sign. '!hey each have their awn separate identity. <br /> <br />Mr. SiIIDns asked if the center strip of parking to the west of the proposed restaurants <br />could be perpendicular rather than diagonal. <br /> <br />Mr. Dahlgren indicated that there was 60 feet from bumper to bumper, which is a minimum <br />am:Hmt for perpendicular parking. He stated that the possibility could be reviewed with <br />the applicant. <br />
