Johnson. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 1234 - Marilyn Baggenstoss request for division of lot at 2270 Western <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Dahlgren indicated that the applicant proposes to divide the property into two parcels, <br />one of which would have 75 feet of frontage on Western and the other would have llO feeet <br />of frontage on Minnesota Avenue. <br /> <br />Mrs. Baggenstoss corrmented that she wanted to divide the property because there was too <br />IIUlch for her to maintain. <br /> <br />RecoImEndation <br /> <br />Mr. Mastel m::>ved and Mrs. Cushing seconded, that the Comnission recomrend approval of <br />Marilyn Baggenstoss' request for division of lot at 2270 Western. Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 1235 - Graydon Newman request for variance to floor area ratio, number <br />of garages required and requirerrent of the ordinance that prohibits <br />efficiency apartments at 655 STH 36 <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Dahlgren indicated that the applicant proposes to construct three efficiency <br />apartrrents in the existing apartment building, using space that is not presently used. <br />He stated there would be no change in the exterior of the building. Mr. Dahlgren <br />comrented that the present City ordinances do not pennit efficiency apartrrents and, <br />therefore, the variance is necessary. He suggested that the Conmission may want to <br />consider recomrending to the City Council that efficiency apartIrents be permitted in <br />the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Newman indicated that there are 46 parking spaces under the existing building. <br />He stated that with the three efficiencies, 48 spaces would be required, therefore, the <br />variance to nunber of parking spaces had been requested. He indicated that the apartrrent <br />residents are primarily elderly and there are always parking spaces available. <br />
