<br />-6- <br /> <br />Mrs. CUshing suggested that Section 8l.010, regarding the banning of newspaper <br />tubes be rewritten to that it is a separate section. <br /> <br />Mr. V. Johnson indicated that, although he didn't like the tubes along the <br />city streets, he was concerned about how the paper ~uld be delivered if there <br />were no tubes. He indicated that with the change of delivery fran the young <br />people to adults, it ~uld probably mean increased costs if the tubes were not <br />permitted. <br /> <br />After discussion regarding the newspaper tubes, it was decided that a separate <br />section should be prepared prohibiting the tubes or other devices for purposes <br />of delivery advertising and that it should proh; bi t them not only on public <br />right-of-way but also on private property. <br /> <br />.Mr. Rukavina indicated he favored the prohibition of robile signs in Section <br />14.040. <br /> <br />Mr. Rukavina IIDved and Mrs. Dressler seconded, that Section 14.040 be amended <br />to prohibit all mobile signs. Roll Call, Ayes: Dress:ler Rukavina, CUshing <br />and V. Johnson. Nays: G. Johnson and Mastel. <br /> <br />Recomnendation <br /> <br />Mr. Mastel IIDved and Mr. Rukavina seconded, that the Carmission recarmend approval <br />of the proposed miscellaneous ordinance arnendrrents as contained in the IremJ <br />dated September 3, 1980, with the following changes: <br /> <br />1. That mobile signs be prohibited in Section 14.040 <br /> <br />2. That newspaper tubes or other devices for the purpose of delivering <br />. advertising.e prohibited on public right-of-way and private property <br />and that a separate code section be prepared. Roll Call, Ayes: Dressler <br />G. Johnson, Mastel, Rukavina, CUshing and V. Johnson. Nays.
