<br />Roseville Planning Commission Minutes <br />Wednesday, November 5, 1980 <br /> <br />The November 5, 1980, regular meeting of the Roseville Planning Commission <br />was called to order by Acting Chairman George Johnson at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br />Members absent: <br />Staff present: <br /> <br />George Johnson, Rukavina, Simons, Cushing, Dressler <br />Vern Johnson, Mastel <br />Council liaison Al Kehr, Howard Dahlgren of Howard <br />Dahlgren Associates, Dave Drown, Jim Payne <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Mr. Rukavina moved and Mrs. Dressler seconded, that the minutes of the regular <br />meeting of October 1, 1980, be approved Roll Call, Ayes: Rukavina, Simons, <br />Cushing, Dressler, G. Johnson. Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 1284 - Shirley DINeill request for approval of special use <br />permit at 633 Larpenteur <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Dahlgren indicated that the applicant was requesting a special use permit <br />inasmuch as the applicant wished to operate a dog grooming shop at the requested <br />location. The use of a dog grooming shop is not specifically spelled out in the <br />City Code, however, both pet shops and dog kennels are listed as special use. <br />Mr. Dahlgren further indicated that Mr. William C. Johnson, who is the owner of <br />the building, had done some remodeling and had approved the use of a portion of <br />the building for dog grooming. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mr. Simons asked if other renters in the building had been approached on this <br />matter and whether they had indicated approval of this use. <br /> <br />Mr. Dahlgren indicated that since the owner had agreed to the use, it was to be <br />assumed that other renters were also in agreement. <br /> <br />The applicant further indicated that the shop was to be sound proofed in the <br />areas where dogs would be kept and that there should be no nuisance to other <br />tenants in the building. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Mr. Rukavina moved and Mr. Simons seconded, that the Commission recommend <br />approval of Shirley O'Neill's request for special use permit for dog grooming <br />shop at 633 Larpenteur. Roll Call, Ayes: Rukavina, Simons, Dressler, George <br />Johnson. Nays: None. Abstention: Cushing. <br /> <br />Planning File 1286 - Evenson Properties request for special uses, variances <br />and division of lot at 1540 County Road B-2 <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Dahlgren indicated that this site was at the southeast corner of County <br />Road B-2 and Snelling and that the site had been under consideration for <br />
