Planning Commission Minutes
Wednesday, October 7, 1981
-6-

Other Business

Mr. Johnson indicated the rezoning request from R-l to R-2 that appeared
earlier on the agenda had raised a question in his mind whether the City
should be studying the conversion of single family to two family homes.
Mr. Matson commented he felt the City should be very cautious about rezoning
homes from R-1 to R-2 in single family neighborhoods. Mr. Johnson asked if
there was much conversion from R-l to R-2 going on in the Metropolitan area.
Mr. Dahlgren indicated that there is very little conversion of existing homes.
He stated that larger, older homes and walk-outs can be converted without
too much difficulty, but that conversion of the typical rambler is difficult.
Mr. Johnson suggested the Commission think about this matter and have further
discussion in the future, if desired.

Adjournment

Mr. Rukavina moved, and Mr. Matson seconded, that the meeting be adjourned
at 9:40 p.m. Roll call, Ayes: Rukavina, Cushing, Dressler, Mastel, Matson,
Moeller, and Johnson. Nays: None.
