The tower would be located to the rear of the industrial
property, adjacent to County Ditch No.4. The basic question is a value judgment
as to whether or not the visual presence of the tower as a prominent landmark is
an asset or liability to the community.

Mr. Kroiss presented the Commission a letter from Robert Pope, the applicant's
architect, regarding the tower.

Discussion

Mrs. Dressler asked if the tower would interfere with radio and television reception
in the area.

Mr. John Pinebrook, representing Motorola Corporation, who will lease the tower for
their use, indicated there would be no interference caused by the tower.

Mrs. Cushing asked what would be placed on the tower. Mr. Pinebrook indicated
there would be various antennas, but none of the micro-wave dishes. He stated
the tower exceeds all State and Federal requirements for safety.

Mr. Mastel asked why Motorola chose Roseville. Mr. Pinebrook responded that the
elevation of the site permits them to serve the north suburban area. He indicated
there would be similar towers in the metropolitan area.
