Roll Call, Ayes: Rukavina, Hastel,
Matson, Hoeller, Dressler, and Johnson. Nays: None.

Planning File 1400 - Donald Regan (St. Paul and Suburban Bus Company)
request for special use permit at 1743 County Road C.

Presentation

Hr. Dahlgren indicated the property consists of approximately 6.8 acres,
and was formerly used as the Mid-America Truck Terminal. Mr. Regan is
applying for a special use perTIit for the storage and maintenance of
buses and for a truck terminal. Mr. Dahlgren stated that this proposed
site on County Road C will function much better for a bus terminal than
the site on Partridge Road that Mr. Regan has also been considering.

Mr. Dahlgren questioned whether the portion of the building proposed for
motor freight terminal purposes would be adequate.

Mr. Eldon Morrison, architect representing the applicant, indicated the
small building located on the southwestern portion of the property would
be completely refurbished on the exterior and also remodeled on the interior.
The larger terminal building would be repaired and painted. He stated there
would be a general improvement in the overall appearance of the site. Mr.
Morrison commented the applicant would be willing to submit a landscape plan
for review by the City staff.
