<br />ROSEVILLE PLANNING COW1ISSION MINUTES <br /> <br />WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1, 1983 <br /> <br />The June 1, 1983 regular meeting of the Roseville Planning Commission was <br />called to order by Chairman John Rukavina at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Members Present: Dressler, Berry, Johnson, Moeller, Wiski, and Rukavina. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Matson. <br /> <br />Staff Present: Council Liaison Al Kehr, Howard Dahlgren, Dave Drown, and <br />Ron Moorse. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Dressler Moved and Moeller Seconded that the minutes of the regular meeting <br />of May 4, 1983 be approved with the following amendment: <br /> <br />Planning File 1425 - last sentence of paragraph 3, to read as follows: <br /> <br />"The cost of the waterline and hydrant would be assessed to the <br />benefi ted properties." <br /> <br />Roll Call, Ayes: Dressler, Berry, Johnson, Moeller, Wiski, and Rukavina. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 1433 - Roberts Construction request for special use permit at <br />2970 Cleveland. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Dahlgren indicated Roberts Construction proposes to lease 6,000 sq. ft. <br />of space in an office/warehouse building to Viking Gym, Inc. for use as a <br />gym. Mr. Dahlgren also indicated the City of Roseville amended its zoning <br />ordinance several months ago to allow "health clubs" as a special use in <br />the industrial district. This type of "exercise facility" is compatible with <br />typical uses allowed in the industrial district. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />The representative of Viking Gym, Inc. explained that the facility is a basic <br />exercise facility. There will be no steam rooms or pools. <br /> <br />Johnson inquired about the proposed signage for the gym. The gym's representative <br />explained they would have a sign on the building's group sign, and also over <br />the door to the gym. Mr. Dahlgren indicated this would meet signage regulations. <br /> <br />Rukavina expressed concern regarding possible parking problems. <br />
