Mr. Hess is proposing to tear down an existing
wooden frame structure and replace it with a new concrete block structure with
an east-west dimension of 80 x 70. In order to expand the existing building,
variances are required for the front yard and side yard of the existing
structure. A variance is also needed for the new structure and that will be
15 feet from the street right-of-way.

Mr. Dahlgren pointed out that in a number of instances it was very difficult
to gain a full understanding of the project in that site elevations, grading,
landscaping and more detailed site plans were not submitted. Mr. Hess in his
presentation pointed out that his sons work with him and therefore parking
would not be a problem and that the majority of employees walked to work.

Mr. Hess also presented a petition from the neighborhood in support of this
project.
