Roseville Planning Commission Minutes
June 4, 1986

Page 5

Demos stated that time limitations placed on each agenda item
could move the meeting quite well. Janisch stated that he
noticed a number of people spending more time discussing gripes
rather than asking relevant questions relating to the issues at
hand.

Berry stated that the presentations should be limited, particularly
as they relate to philosophy of an organization. She stated it
would be a good idea to place time maximums on each item on the
agenda. Maschka agreed that this could be workable, and that if the
participants understood "up front" that this was the process, it
would probably work quite well. Maschka said this could possibly
be tried at the next meeting.

Waldron suggested that the staff members, Dahlgren, Janisch, and
Waldron, meet with Mr. Wiski before the next meeting to modify
the agenda where appropriate, and place time limitations on each
item. Demos pointed out that in the past, meetings had taken
place before the Planning Commission sessions, and it worked
extremely well.

Maschka also stated he would like to have a joint work session
with the City Council that would focus on housing and economic
development. Demos also pointed out that there are "unspoken"
policies that have existed over the years that should be
discussed between the respective parties.

Wiski asked the other members what time would work best with
respect to a joint meeting. The members stated that evenings
would work best for all of them. It was agreed that tax
increment, general economic development, and housing should be
the focus of the joint meeting. Wiski and Demos decided they
would meet at a later date to focus on the agenda and date/time.

Adjournment
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:45
p.m.
