Thus, the actual
variance is 13.5 feet. Dahlgren pointed out that the sign is in
essentially the same position as the other signs in the area.

Reed Banet, of Paster Enterprises, showed an illustration of the
sign, which is lit through the interior.

Hannah Jankauskas, 1776 Lindy, asked what type of shops would be
developed at this site. She proceeded to ask a number of
questions relating to the development, as opposed to the sign.
Wiski stated that these items have already been addressed at
previous Planning Commission and Council meetings, and suggested
that Ms. Jankauskas meet with Banet after the meeting to learn
more specifics relating to the development, which are unrelated to
the current issue before the Planning Commission.

Goedeke asked what does First Minnesota think of this
sign. Waldron replied that notices were mailed,
Minnesota did not respond with any concerns.

particular
and First

Maschka moved, Berry seconded, that Plaza Shoppes Associate's
request for sign variance at 1739 North Lexington be approved.

Roll Call, Ayes: Moeller, Goedeke, Berry, Maschka, Johnson, and
Wiski.
Nays: None.

Planning File 1697
Carmen Dorso request for Special Use Permit at 2814 North
Cleveland Avenue.

Presentation
Mr. Dahlgren discussed the current location where the bumpers are
being stored. The bumpers are being stored in the I-2 District,
which would require a Special Use Permit. Keystone is currently
leasing the property from Dorso.

John Dobney, attorney representing Dorso, claimed that
had a valid nonconforming use at this point in time.
opinion that bumpers and general trucking items were
this area before Special Use was required; therefore,
legal nonconforming use.

the Dorso's
It was his
stored in
this is a

Wiski stated that it was not a nonconforming use, and that it was
not even acceptable in the previous zoned area which was 1-1.
