ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION

Paget14

Wednesday, July 13, 1988

on the Indianhead site. Dahlgren pointed out that the plan calls
for that type of use on that particular site.

Maschka asked if having standards and dedication requirements in
the plan are helpful. Dahlgren responded that yes having
standards and being able to look at dedications would result in
better results in the end.

Johnson pointed out that Johnson Florist was able to expand.
Dahlgren added that this was an example whereby an existing
industrial user could expand and meet standards in a similar
type zoning as being proposed in the Twin Lakes Area.

Johnson pointed out that the city's need for the plan is there
because of the experience's with Costco and Byerly's. Johnson
stated her dismay at the public reaction to the plan because they
have expressed concern about the existing problems with the
industrial users in the area in the past. Johnson pointed out
that there have been a lot of objections but no solutions. The
planning commission is faced with decisions on a monthly basis in
that area. Johnson stated she would support the plan without
multi-family residential development.

Berry moved, DeBenedet seconded to recommend that the city
council adopt the comprehensive plan amendment including language
changes suggested by the City's planning consultant and with the
elimination of multi-family uses east and west of Langton Lake.

Roll Call:

Ayes:

Maschka,
Johnson

DeBenedet, Berry, Goedeke,

Nays:

stokes, Moeller

Berry moved and Goedeke seconded to recommend approval of the
design framework manual.

Roll Call:

Ayes:

stokes, Maschka, Moeller, DeBenedet,
Berry, Goedeke, Johnson

Nays:

None

Other Business

Berry stated that it is becoming difficult to serve because of
hostilities, the level of phone calls, and verbal abuse. Berry
stated that people do not believe the sincerity of the
commission and that she was uncomfortable with the early
neighborhood meeting process. Johnson commented that we need to
look at the neighborhood meeting process.
