Ternes is proposing a high quality ground sign
that would be 10 feet from the right-of-way, but only 17 square
feet in area. The requirement is 25 feet from the right-of-way.

Cushman stated it is her opinion this is a very nice building,
and the sign proposal is appropriate.

DeBenedet asked what the maximum length of the sign could be.
Dahlgren replied that 128 inches was allowable.

DeBenedet moved, Berry seconded, that the Gretchen Ternes request
for sign variance at 2328 Terminal Road be approved with the
following conditions:

1. That the sign be constructed per submitted plans.

2. That the sign's length can be a maximum of 128 inches.

Roll Call, Ayes:
Nays:

Johnson, Maschka, Berry, Stokes, and DeBenedet.
None.

Planning File 1785
Burger King Corporation request for variances at 2151 N.
Snelling.

Presentation
Dahlgren discussed the site, and pointed out the difficulties
relating to the traffic problems in the area. He pointed out how
a private driveway in the rear of the parcels would facilitate
the parking. Dahlgren pointed out on the overhead where the area
gets congested with respect to the entrance and the drive-through
area. The variance requested relates to the number of parking
places and setbacks for the front parking (3 feet versus 15
feet), drive-through aisle (10 feet versus required 15 feet),
parking (47 feet versus 64 feet), and the building (25 feet
versus the required 30 feet).
