ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION

Page # 17

Wednesday, January 6, 1988

seconded to recommend that the council consider an ordinance to
allow a post office to be located in a B-1 zone by special use
permit.

Hoeller inquired as what effect a B-1 zoning would have on the
value of the post office site. Stoke responded that it shouldn't
effect the value that much, and that there were better sites
available in B-1 districts.

DeBenedet indicated that there could be other worse uses for the
site. Stokes commented that nobody would build a house on the
site because of the traffic on the surrounding streets. Waldron
indicated that this would be scheduled on the next planning
commission agenda. Moeller indicated that it would be important
to notify the applicant of the commissions action on any
potential ordinance amendment. Dahlgren indicated that the
council could consider and potentially reject the ordinance prior
to planning commission consideration in February. Waldron
responded that the council could not act on ordinance because of
public hearing and notice requirements. He further indicated
that the matter would be referred to the council on January 11,
and back to the planning commission in February.

Nays:

l10 e II e r, DeB en e d e t, Be r r y, Go e d eke,
Maschka, Stokes
None

Roll Call;

Ayes:

Berry asked for commission input on retreat items.

Adjournment:

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at
l0:40pm.
