ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION

page# 2

Wednesday, March 2, 1988

Russell replied that they will not know exactly which trees will
have to be removed until the project is staked in the field. He
indicated that they would like to save as many trees as possible,
and would replace trees which are removed if the city and county
wish them to do so.

Goedeke suggested that the truck bays facing County Road B
presented aesthetic problems, and felt that the existing
location was better. Anderson responded that they had considered
leaving the truck bays on the north side, but because of the
layout of the building (wall and ,,/iring locations) and a
necessity to maintain a main entrance in its existing location,
that they could not leave the truck bays at their existing
location.

Goedeke inquired if trucks would be parked at the docks all day.
Anderson replied that trucks would be there most of the day.
Goedeke questioned whether trucks could adequately get in and out
of the loading bays. Russell responded that they had studied it
and that trucks could properly access the loading area. Russell
pointed out that they screen wall landscape islands would screen
the dock area, and that additional landscaping was also possible.
Goedeke asked to where the trash bins would be located, and what
kind of screening would be provided. Russell replied that there
would be a single compactor unit located in the truck dock area.
There would be a closed metal container which would be visible,
but that there would be no outside openings to allow trash to
blowout.

Berry asked what entrance changes would be made on commerce.
Russell answered that the existing entrance on Commerce would be
maintained. Berry pointed out that standing water in the parking
lot is a serious problem. Anderson replied that there were no
funds available to address the problem at this time.

Stokes questioned if the rooftop mechanical units would be
screened. Anderson answered that the equipment would be painted,
but not screened.

Nancy Reiter, 3106 Victoria Street North informed the commission
that she felt that the conditions at the Target Store were
despicable, that standing water in the parking lot was a problem,
that shelves were typically empty, and that there was a need for
automatic doors. Anderson stated that the improvements would
result in better conditions.

Donn Wiski, 2714 Westwood Village, pointed out the concerns
concerning push carts being outside, standing truck bodies, and
parking lot lighting.
