That joint access easements be provided for truck <br />access to the two properties. <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Ayes: <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Berry, Goedek2, Stokes Moeller, Johnson <br />None <br /> <br />Planning File 1825 Amendment of the 1-1 and I-2 zoning district <br />requirements concerning chemical storage and distribution uses. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Dahlgren discussed the proposed ordinance amendment and pointed <br />out that it was necessitated by the discovery of a chemical <br />storage and distribution use which was illegally located in an <br />I-I district and which is potentially hazardous <br /> <br />Stokes inquired about what the Fire Marshal1s concerns were. <br />Dahlgren indicated that there are concerns about the amount of <br />chemicals present, the type of chemicals present, and the <br />proximity of certain chemicals to other chemicals. Dahlgren <br />added that the situation was complicated by the fact that a dance <br />studio was located immediately adjacent to the chemical company. <br /> <br />Stokes questioned ~he need for the ordinance amendment, and <br />stated that a chemical use could be relocated to another 1-1 area <br />which would be safer. Johnson stated that it would be better to <br />have this type of use in an 1-2 district. Berry inquired about <br />what the risk of toxic waste chemicals was at the site. Jopke <br />responded that there were toxic chemicals on the site, but that <br />staff was working with the chemical company and the property <br />owner to maintain and handle the chemicals in a safe manner. <br /> <br />Berry moved Goedeke seconded to recommend approval of the <br />proposed ordinance change. <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Ayes: <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Berry, Goedeke, Stokes, Moeller, Johnson <br />None <br /> <br />Other Business <br /> <br />Johnson discussed the format of the Planning Commission retreat <br />on March 11, and indicated that if there were any items that the <br />commissioners wanted to be considered at the retreat that they <br />should be given to Johnson or Dahlgren.
