<br />ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />page# 5 <br /> <br />Wednesday, April 6, 1988 <br /> <br />Roseville Properties/Midland Scientific request for a special use <br />permit for Chemical Storage and Distribution use at 2539 Patton <br />Road. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Dahlgren summarized the existing and proposed location of this <br />use, and indicated that in accordance with the recent ordinance <br />amendment that a special use permit would be required. <br /> <br />Jopke summarized the staff actions that have been taken to insure <br />that the hazards at the existing location are minimized until the <br />relocation to the new site can be accomplished. Maschka asked <br />what kind of hazardous chemicals were present on the site. Jopke <br />responded that he was not familiar with all the chemicals on the <br />site but that there were chemicals which met the definition of <br />hazardous chemicals developed by the Federal Government. <br /> <br />Stokes questioned what the drainage situation of a site was, and <br />what impact chemical spills might have. Jopke responded that he <br />was not familiar with this aspect. <br /> <br />Tom McCormick from Midland Scientific, Inc. pointed out that the <br />hazards of the chemicals on the site were minimal and that there <br />were only small amounts of hazardous chemicals present. Maschka <br />questioned whether there was any repackaging of chemicals <br />occurring on the site. McCormick indicated that only repackaging <br />of non-hazardous chemicals was occurring. <br /> <br />Goedeke asked if fire walls would be provided between uses. <br />McCormick responded that they would. <br /> <br />Johnson closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />DeBenedet moved, Stokes seconded that the special use permit for <br />a chemical storage and distribution use at 2539 Patton Road be <br />approved with the condition that all of the appropriate, <br />applicable regulations and life safety codes and building codes <br />be complied with. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />DeBenedet, Berry, Goedeke, <br />Maschka, Moeller, Johnson <br />None <br /> <br />Stokes, <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Planninq File 1829 <br /> <br />Arthur Schuster/Richard Webb request for an amendment to the <br />Comprehensive Plan from low density to high density residential, <br />rezoning to R-1 to R-3A, special use permit, and variance to <br />parking set back, number of parking stalls, and density <br />requirements. <br />
