ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION

page# 5

Wednesday, October 5, 1988

Hafner stated that the solution was acceptable but that the
parking situation must dealt with.

Fred street, 1200 Eldridge Avenue, asked if Mr. Kaufhold would
allow parking on his site for users of the park. Kaufhold
replied that parking on his site could continue as long as he is
involved in the site but he couldn't speak for future owners.

street asked why the size of the park had been reduced by a 1/2
acre from the neighbors proposal. Johnson responded that the
City was trying to keep the park size to 3 acres because of the
original agreement with the property owner.

Bill Bakeman, 1178 W. County Road B, thanked Mr. Kaufhold, Mr.
Dahlgren, and City staff for working to come up with a solution.
Bakeman stated that the proposed plan was a good compromise and
everyone appeared to get something.

Turba asked if Kaufhold was agreeable to the plan.
responded that he would accept it.

Kaufhold

Johnson commended the neighborhood, staff, and mayor for working
to get a compromise on this matter.

An unidentified citizen questioned whether the driveway onto
Lexington would line up with Burke Avenue. Dahlgren replied that
that detail would have to be worked with a specific proposal in
the future but that would be advantageous to line a driveway with
Burke and that a developer would want to do that.

Johnson closed the public hearing.

Berry moved and Maschka seconded to amend the comprehensive plan
for the site from school to park, high density residential and
business.

Roll Call:

Ayes:

Berry, Goedeke, Stokes, Maschka,
Moeller, DeBenedet, Johnson

Nays:

None

DeBenedet moved and Maschka seconded to recommend rezoning a
portion of the site from R-l to R-3A, B-3, and B-1 in accordance
with the plan dated October 5, 1988.

Stokes questioned if the applicant needed more time to review the
alterative. Kaufhold responded that he did not need any more
time.
