ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION

page#15

Wednesday, October 12, 1988

allow. Alexis stated that security problems are not good for
their business and they will be sensitive to that issue.

Johnson asked who was notified of this hearing. Jopke replied
that everyone within 350 feet and stated that only one person
showed up for the neighborhood meeting.

Johnson inquired about results of a meeting of tenants and the
shopping center concerning this project. Bild commented that the
meeting went well and that some of the tenants had checked out
other centers to see what other problems they had.

Johnson asked what recourse the City would have if the use
becomes a problem in the future. Jopke responded that the City
would have the power to revoke their business license.

Jim stimmler from Kraus-Anderson Corporation said that under the
terms of the lease, the lease can be revoked if the use becomes a
problem.

stokes asked where the billiard center would be located within
the shopping center. stimmler replied that it would be on the
south side of the mall with the main entrance from the parking
lot.

stokes indicated a concern about patrons loitering in the mall.
stimmler answered that there would be no access to the mall when
the mall is closed.

Berry asked why this would be called a family center when the
primary users would be 18-21 year olds. stimmler replied that
this would be a non-alcoholic, non-bar atmosphere kind of place.

stokes asked about the length of the lease.
that it would be six years.

stimmler replied

stokes asked who would own the business.
and Mr. Erickson would be the owners.

Bild replied that he

Goedeke inquired about the type of video games. Erickson replied
that it would be a mixture of pinball and ten games which would
be rotated.

Johnson closed the public hearing.

stokes stated he was in favor but would be more supportive if the
special use permit was issued on a 1 year basis with annual
renewals.
