<br />ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />PAGE #20 <br /> <br />Wednesday, November 2, 1988 <br /> <br />Planning File 1905 <br /> <br />Murphy oil request for a variance at 2151 North Dale street. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Dahlgren summarized the location and the proposal. <br /> <br />DeBenedet asked how much further the canopy would be extending <br />than the existing. Podvin stated that it would be extending 10 <br />feet more. <br /> <br />Moeller stated that he didn't see a problem with this. <br /> <br />DeBenedet pointed out that similar requests have been granted <br />previously and inquired about the requirements for tank removal. <br />podvin summarized the federal and state tank removal <br />requirements. <br /> <br />Keel pointed out that these easements would not be impacted by <br />the proposal. <br /> <br />Johnson closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />DeBenedet moved and Berry seconded to recommend approval of the <br />variance at 2151 North Dale street. <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Goedeke, Stokes, Maschka, Moeller, <br />DeBenedet, Johnson <br />None <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Other Business <br /> <br />DeBenedet stated a concern that there was no continuity of staff <br />persons attending the Planning Commission concerns are not being <br />properly addressed. <br /> <br />Jopke agreed to fully brief Craig Waldron on issues brought up by <br />the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />DeBenedet stated that he was troubled by the fact that the City <br />had passed an ordinance concerning mini-storage and then the <br />Planning Commission recommended a proj ect not consistent with <br />ordinance requirements. DeBenedet stated that he is willing to <br />consider an ordinance amendment to consider embossed block as an <br />appropriate material. Johnson stated that the ordinance was <br />developed with flexibility to give the Planning Commission the <br />abili ty to look at al ternati ves. Moeller pointed out that <br />materials change over time so it is important to have <br />flexibility. Johnson said that the ordinance worked because the <br />
