ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION

page#11

Wednesday, February 1, 1989

Goedeke inquired that in light of Loehmanns parking problem,
whether or not a joint parking ramp had been discussed to solve
the parking problems at both centers. Dunn answered that they
haven't considered it but that some j oint parking arrangement
short of connection may be possible.

Johnson questioned whether or not there would be sufficient
parking for the theatres.

stokes questioned what would happen with the frontage road. Dunn
responded that the developer would like to see the connection
remain open, that they would monitor the situation and close it
if problems occurred in the future.

Maschka asked if the developer had considered a entrance only
road at the northeast corner. Dunn responded that that would be
better than closing it off completely.

Berry stated that she was pleased with the developers concern
about handicap accessibility. Berry added that she was concerned
about ramp safety and encouraged the developer to take a serious
look at the issue and to study what is being done in other
parking ramps.

Berry asked about the fence maintenance. Dunn responded that
their company is the largest manager of property in the state and
they would do whatever it takes to provide sufficient security in
the ramp. Dunn added that the fence will be constructed of good
quality materials and the maintenance will be continually
monitored.

Lynn Kapaun, 2565 Wheeler, pointed out to the Commission that the
Fuddruckers Restaurant had been turned down on the site because
of access concerns. Kapaun encouraged the Commission to prevent
access to the site from the Snelling Avenue service road.

John Blaha, 1686 Oakcrest, stated that there would be
considerable traffic to the site from Snelling and that he was
opposed to access on the northeast corner of the site.

Mike Peterson, 1790 Oakcrest, stated that the access to the
northeast should be cut off because the experience at Loehmanns
proves that signage does not work.

Nisj a pointed out to the Commission that there could be access
for fire emergency vehicles only at the northeast corner without
allowing full vehicular access.
