ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION

page#12

Wednesday, February 1, 1989

Greg Lukoskie, 1660 Oakcrest, stated his concern about noise and
lights and asked if a sound and visual barrier could be
constructed on the ramp.

Lukoskie asked if a fence would be constructed on the top or the
bottom of the berm. It was pointed out that it wouldn't work
real well at the bottom of the berm. Dunn stated that the best
barrier would be on the berm because the ramp is already far away
from the neighborhood. Dunn said that they are open to
suggestions on the size of the fence and that they would be
discussing the fence with Williams Pipeline to see if they could
locate it at the top of the berm. Gerstner added that
landscaping should be used to soften the appearance of the fence.

George Lindgren, 1728 Oakcrest, asked that the Commission cut off
access to the site at the northeast corner and talked about the
traffic, snow removal, trash pickup and noise problems which they
have with the current centers in the area.

Vaughn Jefferson, 2571 Frye, stated that the existing
intersection of Oakcrest and the frontage road is dangerous and
said he was against adding the connection to the center from the
frontage road because it would make the problem worse.

steve Tudisco, 1607 Bruce, encouraged the Commission to approve
this project because of the deterioration of the neighborhood and
the inability of the people in the area to sell their houses.
Tudisco added that Welsh Companies have been very considerate to
them and that if this project doesn't go, the neighborhood will
have no good alternatives.

Greg Lakoskie testified that Oakcrest is a problem now because of
traffic and speeding and that access to this project should be
cut off from the frontage road. Lakoskie stated that a high
fence along the north property line would solve alot of problems.

An unidentified person testified that there is landscaping on the
strip north of Pavilion which have died and not been replaced
and stated that the access to the site from the frontage road
should be cut off.

George Shears,
deteriorating
increasing.

1615 Bruce, stated
and the number of

that the neighborhood
renters in the area

is
is

Mrs. Gale, 1631 Bruce, stated that they do not wish to move,
that they have already lost a home when the Loehmanns Plaza went
in and that the area is not a deteriorating place.
