<br />ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />page# 9 <br /> <br />Wednesday, February 1, 1989 <br /> <br />Goedeke stated that he was concerned that a chain reaction would <br />occur once the city approved the sign variance for Roseville <br />Dodge. Goedeke pointed out that that chain reaction is now <br />occurring. <br /> <br />Johnson testified that there were so many signs in the area but <br />that the variances affect no one because the area is isolated <br />away from residential property. <br /> <br />Johnson closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />DeBenedet moved, Moeller seconded to approve the sign height, <br />size and location variances based on the precedent that has been <br />previously set in the area. <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Moeller, DeBenedet, Berry, Goedeke, <br />Stokes, Maschka, Johnson <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Johnson recessed the meeting at 9:49 p.m. The meeting reconvened <br />at 9:59 p.m. <br /> <br />Planninq File 1922 <br /> <br />Welsh Companies request for comprehensive plan change from low <br />density residential to business, rezoning from R-l to S-C, <br />special use permit for a planned unit development, preliminary <br />and final plat, variance to the amount of parking and parking <br />stall size requirements and vacation of right of way at 1665 <br />County Road B-2. <br /> <br />Johnson read a letter from Carole pagones, 1630 Brooks, in <br />support of the project. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Dahlgren summarized the location of the site and highlighted the <br />proposed addition onto the existing Pavilion Place shopping <br />center. <br /> <br />Keel summarized the proposed drainage and utilities plans and <br />stated that the Public Works Department has no problems with the <br />vacation of American street. <br /> <br />Nisja testified that he had no problems with access to the <br />but again had general concerns with increased traffic <br />affects the Fire Department's ability to get to and from <br />stations and affects their response time.
