Dahlgren suggested that perhaps we could <br />adjust the language to read drywall retaining walls. <br /> <br />Goedeke commented on the large amount of surface area parking for <br />apartments. <br /> <br />Dahlgren stated that underground parking is encouraged by giving <br />the developer a land credit of 300 square feet for every car <br />parked underground. Required that if garages are built outside, <br />they need to supply enough room in the foreground of the garage <br />to park a car and not block traffic. <br /> <br />Johnson questioned if satellite dishes are included as rooftop <br />equipment. Johnson added that NSP on 35W has a huge dish on the <br />rooftop. Johnson questioned how these dishes are dealt with in <br />the design standards. <br /> <br />wietecki stated that these are difficult to screen. <br /> <br />Dahlgren commented on the way it is currently handled. He stated <br />that any aerials represent an aesthetic problem and is referred <br />to the City Council. <br /> <br />Johnson questioned whether they could be situated on the ground. <br /> <br />Dahlgren replied that they may be situated on the ground. <br /> <br />Johnson expressed a concern for the growing interest in satellite <br />dishes. <br /> <br />wietecki suggested that these be included in site plan reviews. <br /> <br />DeBenedet stated that satellite dishes should be classified under <br />rooftop equipment. <br /> <br />Keel commented that often permits are not taken for these <br />satellite dishes. <br /> <br />Wietecki suggested that 1ahe wording be adjusted to include all <br />types of rooftop equipment. <br /> <br />Berry suggested that the staff find out what other communi ties <br />have done. <br />
