<br />ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Wednesday, October 3, 1990 <br /> <br />The October 3 , <br />Commission was <br />P.M. <br /> <br />1990 regular meeting of the Roseville Planning <br />called to order by Chairperson Johnson at 7: 30 <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Berry, Goedeke, Johnson, Roberts, Stokes, <br />wietecki <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />DeBenedet <br /> <br />Staff Present: <br /> <br />Keel, Jopke, Shardlow, Carlson, Schwinghammer <br /> <br />Council Present: <br /> <br />Rog, Thomas (Liaison) <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />MOTION <br /> <br />Berry moved and Goedeke seconded to approve the September 5, 1990 <br />minutes. <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Berry, Roberts, Stokes, Goedeke, <br />Johnson, wietecki <br /> <br />Nayes: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Planninq File 2151 <br /> <br />Thomas Theisen/Welsh Co. request for a special use permit for an <br />amusement room at the Welsh Crossroads Shopping Center at 1655 <br />County Rd. B-2. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Shardlow summarized the site location and proposed project. <br />Shardlow presented a letter from Theisen stating that hours of <br />operation have been reduced to 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Sunday <br />through Thursdays and 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight on Friday and <br />Saturday. <br /> <br />Shardlow summarized a survey conducted by the Police Department <br />which looked at 10 cities that have arcades, five of which were <br />managed by Theisen. Most of the problems cited were increased <br />loi terism and vandalism in the parking lots near the arcades. <br />Shardlow stated that some of these amusement centers also had <br />dance floors and pools halls, items that would not be included in <br />this proposal. <br /> <br />Shardlow stated that the Commission should focus discussion on <br />the public safety issues, that affect property values. <br />
