ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION
Wednesday March 13, 1991

Page 13

should provide a proper boundary survey.

Shardlow stated that, in this case, we are talking about a
business use next to residential uses and that there is a need to
protect adjacent residents.

Berry stated that the cable company is more disruptive to the
neighborhood because of the promises not kept.

Keel pointed out that back assessments of $650 would have to be
paid.

Johnson stated that the City is willing to work with the marina
operators to come to a solution.

Berry stated that she has enjoyed her experience on the
Commission, even though it has been difficult at times. Berry
pointed out that the Planning Commission is indeed a political
body which is part of the structure of government and which must
represent all citizens in the community. Berry said that the
Planning Commission is dependent on direction from city staff but
it is the prerogative of the Planning Commission to add
conditions where necessary. Berry indicated that the Council has
established policies which have been difficult to implement at
times. Berry stated that she was pleased to have had the
opportunity to serve on the Commission and that she would
continue to serve and speak out as a private citizen.

Johnson pointed out that this evening was her last meeting and
thus, a number of items should be discussed. Johnson said that
it was unfortunate that the Council declined to appoint her for
another term because her experience was needed in light of the
issues the City would be facing in the future. She stated that
there are some relatively new people on the staff and on the
commission and her experience would have been useful. Johnson
indicated that, in her opinion, the council decision was
politically motivated.

Johnson thanked the staff members for their support as well as
the Planning commission for the professionalism it had shown over
the years. Johnson stated that the Planning Commission has
served the community well. Johnson thanked the citizens of
Roseville for their support and encouragement.

Waldron updated the commission on the community Development
Departmental staffing and proceeded to thank Ann and Pat on
behalf of the staff for their years of public service.

Roberts indicated his appreciation for the support and guidance
which Ann Berry and Pat Johnson had given him on numerous
activities.
