ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION
May 8, 1991

Paget

6

suggested that they designate storage areas and maintenance
locations for the vehicles.

Goedeke questioned why truck rental is not addressed in the City
ordinance. Shardlow commented that this item needs to be
discussed.

Sam Cave, Manager of Oakwood Square, informed the Commission that
one of his tenants is Agency Rental. As a landlord, he wants to
protect parking spaces and requires Agency Rental to use assigned
parking spaces away from the front door. He limits the number of
cars that can be parked on the site and does not allow car sales.

stokes asked if Mr. Cave would submit recommendations on ordinance
changes. Cave replied that he would supply recommendations.

Shardlow replied that staff will research automobile rental
agencies further and return with more information at the next
Planning Commission meeting.

Discussion concerning Amendment of Twin Lakes Redevelopment Area
Plan.

Presentation

Shardlow informed the Planning commission that staff is currently
working with Ryan Construction regarding the formulation of a
development agreement in the Twin Lakes Area. Ryan proposes to
develop a light industrial use on the site as opposed to a
commercial use. Shardlow outlined three concepts that have been
generated to explore revised land use configurations for the Twin
Lakes Area.

wietecki asked what the time frame was for this area. Shardlow
explained that there is a need to look at whether we proceed with
the development plan or wait until after the visioning process. If
the Commission waits until after the visioning process, it will
probably be the beginning of 1992.

wietecki commented that there are a number of sites for sale and
the City currently has an applicant that wants to locate into this
area, so there is a need to act soon.

DeBenedet indicated that if the Commission waits for the visioning
process and a development proposal surfaces that is different from
what we would like to see on the site, how does the Planning
Commission deal with that. Could a moratorium be placed on the
site? Shardlow said that could be implemented or the City can be
very strict on the zoning uses.
