Highway 35W. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Shardlow summarized the proposal. <br /> <br />Jopke summarized previous discussions he had with the applicant <br />concerning permitted signage and indicated that there have been <br />variances approved for other car dealers in the area under the old <br />ordinance. <br /> <br />Steve Rubin from McCarthy Oldsmobile stated that they would like to <br />be given the same consideration as other dealers in the area. <br /> <br />Bob Yurecko outlined the visibility problems and the impact on the <br />existing parking area if the sign was constructed to meet ordinance <br />requirements. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Issues discussed included number and location of existing signs on <br />the site, number of parking stalls lost, sign design, lease <br />restrictions, and the lease of estate land by McCarthy Oldsmobile, <br />potential visual obstructions, the amount of work that went into <br />the completion of sign ordinance amendments, the need for <br />amortization of existing non-conforming sign, and the lack of <br />hardship present. <br /> <br />No Citizens Appeared <br /> <br />MOTION <br /> <br />Roberts moved and Wall seconded a motion to recommend denial of <br />Signcrafters/Robert Yurecko request for a sign height variance at <br />2275 W.
