Friday work week, the building is open from 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. for normal work
hours, but there are a number of workers who remain until 5:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
Mr. Schneider noted that this delivery trucks leave very early in the morning and return in
the evening. They are loaded during the evening and early morning hours for delivery the
next day.

Member Wall asked about landscaping between the railroad and the building lines along
the north side of the building. Mr. Schneider responded that the railroad and NSP both
have easements adjacent to the north wall of the building. Pacific Mutual Door will work
with NSP to improve the landscaping along the north wall. In addition, on the south side
of the building, the Thermo King building will be completely demolished. No additional
land can be purchased at this time.

There were no further comments from the Planning Commission and Chairman Keith
Wietecki asked for public comments.

Meryl Goodmanson, 2630 North Fairview, stated that Pacific Mutual Doors have been
good neighbors but that he has concerns about the industrial expansion which include: (1)
traffic is heavy in the area; (2) the impact on property values; (3) the lights and headlights
from trucks flashing into the residential house windows; (4) the noise from trucks and air
horns; (5) the buzzers within Pacific Mutual Doors which go off on half hour or hour basis
on Saturday and Sunday; (6) safety factors regarding the driving and control of trucks in
the area adjacent to a residential property; (7) pedestrian safety in area; (8) the trucks are
washed on Saturday and Sunday very early in the morning creating noise which disrupts
the residential area; (9) the two large doors will house up to four trucks at anyone time.
The neighbors are concerned there may be more trucks using this site. (10) The trucks
that leave the site headed south must slowly climb the Fairview Avenue hill and they
create a noise problem.

Bruce Schneider stated that the entrances have been screened as much as possible with
coniferous material and Pacific Door will work with the neighbors to avoid trucking and
noise problems.

Member Sandstrom asked if a new drainage and storage pond was being created to the
west of the site. Mr. Falk responded there was a new pond being created and it will
handle the runoff from the entire site.

Member Harms asked if sidewalks were required. Mr. Falk responded the sidewalks are
required as part of the city policy, but at this point, no sidewalks will be installed until one
can be constructed along the entire block. Member Wall asked if the storage pond would
be visible from County Road C and expressed concern regarding the weeds and visual
image that are created by unattended ponding rather than the well-maintained which
becomes an amenity.

4
