CITY OF ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 8, 1995

Member Harms expressed concern about the lack of landscaping on the site and if the
Commission could include a condition to correct this deficiency with this approval. Falk
responded that landscaping is planned that would be consistent with the design standards
but that it had not been installed because of it being winter.

Member Harms asked if automobile leasing could be located anywhere in the City
without a special use permit, whether the special use permit stays with the property, and
what controls the number of cars which could be on the site.

Falk stated that the special use permit would be required no matter where a automobile
leasing agency were to locate and that the special use permit stays with the property, and
that a limit on the number of vehicles could be specified as part of the approval and that
any increase would require an amendment to the special use permit.

Member Wall asked if the suggestion that there be no outside display would limit outside
storage of vehicles. Falk responded that it would.

Chairman Wietecki asked if staff had a plan with specific dimensions of the space to be
utilized for the leasing of vehicles. Falk indicated that staff does have such a plan.

Member Harms asked what signage would be in place on the building.

Chairman Wietecki indicated that signage would be restricted by the sign ordinance and
that staff can approve that if its consistent with the sign ordinance.

Ronald Rich, attorney for Mr. Kath, apologized for the lateness of the materials, pointed
out that the proposal fits the City guidelines without adverse impact on adjacent property.

Chairman Wietecki closed the public hearing. There were no public comments or
questions.

Member Wall asked for additional information about past City approval of similar cases
and if there were any issues or problems with these other cases which he should be aware
of.

Chairman Wietecki stated that the main issues with other cases were trailer storage on the
site, impact on parking, and maintenance of vehicles on the site. He pointed out that
generally, the Commission recommended approval if those ordinance criteria were met.

7
