<br />City of Roseville <br />Planning Commission Minutes <br />July 12, 1995 <br /> <br />Member Wall stated that the city should look at the risk/benefit and that the cul-de-sac <br />with an island in the middle seemed to be a good trade-off. <br /> <br />Chairman Wietecki indicated that the city is almost complete with the pavement <br />management program and questioned how many more cul-de-sacs would actually be <br />reconstructed. <br /> <br />Lon Aune stated that there is some more pavement management projects plus new cul-de- <br />sacs which would be effected. <br /> <br />Member Wall stated a preference for a 100 foot cul-de-sac with a landscape area in the <br />middle. <br /> <br />Chairman Wietecki indicated that the neighbors should decide on whether or not there is <br />landscaping in the cul-de-sac. <br /> <br />Member Sandstrom indicated that the landscaped cul-de-sac seemed to be a good design <br />for environmental and aesthetic reasons. <br /> <br />Member Rhody questioned the timing of the need for this ordinance. Lon Aune <br />responded that it is necessary for next year's PMP program. <br /> <br />MOTION: Chairman Wietecki moved and Member Sandstrom seconded to continue <br />consideration ofthis ordinance amendment until August 9, 1995, to allow <br />fire department input, cost information on landscaped versus standard cul- <br />de-sac, and cost benefit. <br /> <br />Ayes: Wall, Sandstrom, Rhody, Harms, Wietecki <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: <br /> <br />Chairman Wietecki directed staff to request the city manager and the city council to refer <br />RFPs to the Planning Commission to provide advise on land use issues. <br /> <br />There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 12:30 a.m. <br /> <br />23 <br />
