Planning Commission Meeting Minutes
September 11, 1996

Trudy Martinco said she was not opposed to the subdivision, but was concerned about
grading, fill, drainage, and loss of trees.

James Killow, 2225 Acorn Road, expressed concern about the impact of 6 lots on the new
road and the saving of trees. This subdivision would reverse the effort by grading almost
4 acres of trees. The proposal does not meet the character of the neighborhood.

Chairman Wietecki asked for size oflots to the north (one acre and 3/4 acre).

Chairman Wietecki asked if the wetland could be filled if determined to be Type 1
wetland. Jay Kennedy reported that the watershed study was necessary to determine
impact on grading and trees.

Art Mueller reported that the new road would remove six trees. A total of nine trees
would be removed from the site under his current plan (except for areas where houses
will be installed). By new planting, the property owners to the north will not see the new
homes.

There was no further public comment.

Chairman Wietecki closed the public hearing.

MOTION: Member Wietecki moved, seconded by Member Sandstrom, to continue
Arthur Mueller's request for preliminary plat approval for a 6 lot subdivision at 2224
Acorn Road to the October 9, 1996 Planning Commission meeting to allow time for the
applicant to complete a wetland delineation and to receive preliminary comments from
the Army Corps of Engineers and the Rice Creek Watershed District

Roll Call:
Ayes:
Nayes:

Harms, Cunningham, Rhody, Sandstrom, Wilke, Wietecki
None

MOTION: Member Wietecki moved, seconded by Member Harms, to recommend that
the City Council continue the public hearing on Arthur Mueller's request for preliminary
and final plat approval for a 6 lot subdivision at 2224 Acorn Road to the October 28,
1996 City Council meeting to allow time for the applicant to complete a wetland
delineation and to receive preliminary comments from the Army Corps of Engineers and
the Rice Creek Watershed District.

4
