The residents area is <br />held hostage by Cleveland and Cty Rd. D, expressed concern about traffic at <br />intersection. Direct traffic is to Cty Rd. C. Move hotels south. Brenner <br />residential traffic is a concern. Could streets be closed? <br />Don Albricht, 2053 Brenner, stated he was opposed and would not accept this <br />solution. <br />Mary Reed, Brenner Avenue, asked why hotels would be built to service <br />warehouses. <br />Chairperson Keith Wietecki closed the hearing. <br />Member Ed Cunningham thanked the public for coming. He stated that he has <br />not seen a plan from the developer showing the hotels to the south. Why won't it <br />work? The developer should show compelling hardships, financial or otherwise. <br />Chairperson Keith Wietecki stated that the compelling reasons for the location <br />would be a value statement, not an absolute answer. He expressed concern <br />about the north/south area change to the development; the hotels could be <br />moved further south. <br />Member Wilke stated that the hotel users from the north area will still enter from <br />County Rd. D. There may not be much difference in traffic impact by relocating <br />the hotels. The restaurants may not be a morning use area. BRW's report <br />explained many improvements that could be made to handle traffic. <br />Chairperson Keith Wietecki asked for details on the driveways. Assistant <br />Engineer Jay Kennedy recommended only 1 be considered at the far southeast <br />corner of the site. <br />Member Rhody asked for details on cellular towers. He stated that he was not <br />concerned with the lights and noise if the hotels and restaurants do not operate <br />late evening (after 9:00pm). <br />Chairperson Keith Wietecki state that the Planning Commission could <br />recommend approval but with moving the hotels and restaurants to the south <br />because of noise and light.
