5.The monopole must be removed by the owner within twelve months <br />after it is no longer in use. A bond may be required from the owner <br />by the city to assure that the tower is removed within twelve <br />months. <br />Member Moulder expressed concern regarding whether another tower could be <br />installed. How many additional towers will be allowed. <br />Member Wietecki explained new technologies that will provide antennas on power and <br />telephone poles. <br />Member Cunningham asked whether placement of towers on City property is done <br />and if it generates revenue for the City (Yes). Can multiple users be at the same site <br />with different frequencies? (Yes) If cellular providers go out of business or are <br />consolidated in the future, will towers be taken down (Yes). <br />Member Rhody stated that City requirements are adequate and each tower or use <br />should be evaluated on its own merits. <br />A general discussion ensued regarding limiting the impact of technology. <br />The motion carried 6-0. <br />7(a)METROPOLITAN COUNCIL STRATEGIC GROWTH <br />Dennis Welsch provided an overview of the growth strategies of the Metropolitan <br />Council and how they impact Roseville. Comments from the Commission included: <br />A.Continue to bring this topic and different scenarios to the Planning <br />Commission for further discussion; <br />B.Transportation should also be part of the strategy; <br />C.Roseville will work with communities in the Corridor to reach the <br />subregional goals; <br />D.Roseville’s Cornerstone and housing renewal programs should be part of <br />the expanded housing issue. <br />8(a)JAMES ADDITION TASK FORCE <br />Dennis Welsch provided a summary of the Task Force activities and asked the <br />Commission to designate a liaison to the Task Force.
