P.U.D. gives the City more authority to fit desirable development in on the <br />corner. This corner has to be inviting into the community. He encouraged a new <br />look at signage that remains in keeping with the Larpenteur designs. <br />Tim Prinsen said Bradley will update signage with a better design (and better <br />materials) for the Taco Bell. Bradley will attempt to tie in materials. <br />Member Rhody stated he was supportive of the redesign process, but did not <br />want it confused with the Cornerstone process. <br />Member Harms suggested that a symbol of Roseville (such as a brick pillar with <br />rose sculpture) should be placed on each gateway corner of the community. <br />The City must be a partner. Member Harms stated she was not supportive of the <br />sign design sketches; she preferred monument signs. Tim Prinsen stated that <br />his tenants want pylon signs and Bradley wants them done in good taste. <br />Member Mulder noted that at Rice and Larpenteur there are traffic concerns that <br />should not be repeated at this Center. Bradley should find a way to not have to <br />drive around the front of a building; move the access and improve curriculation. <br />Member Cunningham also suggested improvements to access on Lexington. <br />Plantings should be incorporated into signage and public gateways. <br />Member Wilke asked for details regarding the adjoining Rainbow Food site plan. <br /> Access issues and circulation are poor in the Center. Bradley and Rainbow <br />should meet to resolve some of these issues. <br />Council Member Goedeke stated the neighbors are concerned about trash pick- <br />up improvements; the homes at the north would like an improved connection with <br />the Center. Tim Prinsen stated Bradley has received compliments, as new <br />management, regarding trees, trash, screening and pedestrian access. <br />Chairman Wietecki recommended that the City will have to get involved <br />financially to upgrade this Center and the Gateway. No further comment was <br />offered. <br />7b.Planning File 2889. James Addition Task Force Interim Report <br />Dennis Welsch provided an introduction. Craig Christenson, Chair of the James <br />Addition Task Force, presented an overview of the consensus to date. The <br />charges to the Task Force were to gain knowledge, understand the facts and <br />make recommendations for the future. He explained the concerns of the <br />neighborhood. There are three major issues: the southeast business area; the <br />traffic access and intersections; and the future of Fairview Avenue homes as the <br />Avenue is widened.
