Mr. Thein asked if the fire and <br />police departments have been asked to comment on the vacation. Is there City <br />cost if the road is improved and assessed? <br />Chair Harms asked if the school district would accept an assessment? (Yes). <br />Chair Harms asked what will happen if the street is not there. John Thein <br />suggested adding new curb cuts and new roadways. The school district would <br />like to keep the street and exit. <br />Member Olson asked if Grace sold the lots, would the City take back the right-of- <br />way (no). However the lots would have 33 feet of right-of-way to be used as a <br />driveway. <br />Member Mulder asked for clarification regarding staff procedure to vacate a <br />street. Jay Kennedy stated no direction or interest was received from either <br />party. <br />John Thein noted vacation would have a health, safety and welfare impact. <br />Dellwood is a public street for many events beside school and church. The <br />school district wishes to have the street rebuilt, not vacated.
