He supports the residential concept. <br />There being no further comments, Chair Harms closed the hearing. <br />Member Rhody described the difficulties of both proposals. <br />Chair Harms noted that scenario 1 allows uses to continue. <br />Member Mulder espressed concern about both options; each option changes the <br />neighborhood significantly. <br />Member Klausing asked for clarification on percent homesteaded in <br />neighborhood and the sale prices of homes ($90-120K). <br />Member Cunningham stated he was struck by the commercial activity that <br />surrounds the neighborhood. The neighbors wish to preserve the quality of life. <br />Member Wilke found that some issues are unresolved. Traffic is not resolved, <br />the signal at Oakcrest; the location of the Knights of Columbus should not move. <br />Member Olson was not accepting of the two alternatives and asked that traffic be <br />studied further. <br />Chair Harms stated traffic increase will always be an issue around and in the <br />neighborhood. The two proposals are win-lose, rather than win-win. There is a <br />loss to the neighbors. She asked if there was a third option. <br />Motion: <br /> Member Mulder moved, Member Wilke seconded, to recommend that <br />the eastern half of Knights of Columbus property stay out of PUD; and change to <br />Medium Density housing on both the Kings Court and the National Tire <br />Warehouse site. <br />Motion withdrawn. <br />Motion: <br /> Member Mulder moved, Member Wilke seconded, to table this issue <br />(PF2998) for further study based on a third option. <br />Motion withdrawn. <br />7 <br />
