Member Wilke also asked if the sidewalk could be escrowed. <br />MemberKlausing asked if the appearance of the fencing (cyclone) should be <br />changed to match the design. <br />Member Cunningham asked for the capacity of the school now and as <br />renovated. <br />RickHollenkamp, Kraus Anderson, stated there are 62 children, with expansion <br />room for 80, with a current waiting list of 100. The drop-off and pick-up traffic are <br />not issues. <br />RickHallenkamp asked for details of the paining of new brick. Kim Lee noted <br />that staff concern is to paint new brick and later have it peel. The existing brick <br />is rust-colored. There is a requirement for four boulevard trees based on the <br />standards of the street tree master plan (staff will work with the developer). <br />There being no further comment, Chair Harms closed the hearing. <br />Motion: <br /> Member Wilke moved, Member Mulder seconded, to recommend <br />approval of the request for an amended Conditional Use Permit to allow the <br />expansion of a day care facility at 1875 Perimeter Drive, based on the staff <br />findings and conditions; staff to review street trees and work with applicant on <br />brick and facade, and condition of screen/cyclone fence. <br />MemberKlausing asked for inclusion of new fencing in areas where it is in bad <br />condition. <br />Member Cunningham expressed concern with the need for safety and visibility <br />from the street with a chain link fence.
