Member Rhody: A City Code setback problem has occurred, and setback creep <br />should not occur. Use of the proposed setback permit is most desirable. <br />Council member Barb Mastel expressed concern about the minor variance <br />administration committee and need for unanimous decision. <br />Member Mulder: Still must have an absolute setback number and must have a <br />standard beyond which no variance is considered. <br />Member Klausing will review the variance issues as an ad hoc subcommittee. <br />8b. Planning File 3023. Draft Accessory Building Ordinance <br />Kim Lee presented a verbal report on the current accessory building restrictions. <br />Chair Harms asked for clarification regarding lakeshore; are there any approvals <br />required of neighbors (No). <br />Member Rhody will work with staff on this issue. <br />8c. Planning File 2969. Draft Home Occupation Ordinance <br />Kim Lee summarized the proposed home occupation regulations. <br />Member Mulder asked for sign details. <br />Member Wilke asked if day care would be restricted (No). <br />Member Klausing asked why interior modificatioins would be restricted. Kim Lee <br />advised it was to maintain residential character, not degrade the property. <br />Chair Harms asked how the City enforces these codes well. <br />Member Mulder asked if home businesses have been registered. <br />Member Wilke asked for comparison with other communities. Kim Lee explained <br />the research. <br />Member Cunningham suggested a better definition of commercial vehicles. <br />Member Mulder volunteered to assist the staff with review of these possible <br />changes. <br />9 <br />
