DRAFT <br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES <br />Wednesday, August 12, 1998 <br />1.CALL TO ORDER: <br />Chair Katie Harms called the regular meeting of the Roseville Planning <br />Commission to order at 6:30 p.m. in the City of Roseville City Council Chambers. <br />2.ROLL CALL AND INTRODUCTIONS: <br />Present:DougWilke, Katie Harms, Janet Olson, Craig Klausing, <br />JamesMulder (John Rhody arrived at 8:20 p.m.) <br />Absent:Ed Cunningham <br />Staff Present:DennisWelsch, Jay Kennedy, Pat Morrison <br />Council Present: Barb Mastel <br />3.APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: <br />Motion: <br /> Member Mulder moved, seconded by Member Klausing, to approve the <br />minutes of the July 8, 1998 Planning Commission meeting as submitted. <br />Ayes: 5 <br />Nays: 0 <br />4.COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC: <br />5.CONSENT AGENDA <br />None. <br />6.PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />6a.Planning File 3029. David M. Johnson, Suburban True Value Hardware, <br />requesting a variance to reduce the rear yard setback to 3' and the side <br />yard setback to 4.5' for the purpose of constructing an addition to an <br />existing building, and a variance to reduce the setback of a pylon sign to 5' <br />for the purpose of replacing a pylon sign at 1930 Lexington Avenue North. <br />Chair Harms opened the public hearing and requested Dennis Welsch, <br />Community Development Director, to provide a review, based on written reports <br />dated July 8, 1998, of the request of Dave Johnson. Dennis Welsch advised the <br />site is zoned B-2, with Business designation in the Comprehensive Plan. The <br />site has pre-existing non-conforming setbacks.
