(No vote) DennisWelsch listed changes discussed and direction provided. ChairRhody suggested #11 remain as written. No variance should be required between 864 sq ft and some other point. This should be discussed in more detail. A conditional use allows for a hearing and public comment, but does not require demonstration of a hardship. MemberMulder stated there should be a limit beyond which storage occurs off-site or in rental space. MemberKlausing noted that in #12 there should not be square feet of area, but a percentage of the principle structure. MemberRhody suggested less impervious surface be allowed in order to reduce surface water runoff. MemberKlausing asked if the Planning Commission should have a subcommittee to review this case. The Planning Commission asked staff to convene subcommittee to discuss issues. No public comment was offered; Chair Rhody closed the hearing. Motion: (Restated) Member Mulder moved, Member Klausing seconded, to table the public hearing on Planning File 3023 to the Planning Commission’s next regular meeting of October 14, 1998, at which time staff is to address questions presented by Planning Commission members and subcommittee.
