(Buildings would be required to match in color, scale, design and/or materials.) <br />Member Olson stated that #11 (size) should not exceed 80% of floor area of main <br />level of the house. <br />MemberKlausing recommended one storage and one garden accessory structure. <br />He asked if an accessory building must be placedon the same lot as the structure. <br />(Yes) <br />There was no public comment; the hearing was closed by Chair Rhody. <br />Motion: <br />MemberRhody moved, Member Klausing seconded, to continue the <br />hearing on Planning File 3023 to the October 14, 1998 Planning Commission <br />meeting and direct staff to return with details from questions asked and create some <br />hypotheticals with Olson, Mulder,Rhody acting as a subcommittee to review staff <br />proposals and add alternatives. (No vote) <br />DennisWelsch listed changes discussed and direction provided. <br />ChairRhody suggested #11 remain as written. No variance should be required <br />between 864 sq ft and some other point. This should be discussed in more detail. <br />A conditional use allows for a hearing and public comment, but does not require <br />demonstration of a hardship. <br />MemberMulder stated there should be a limit beyond which storage occurs off-site <br />or in rental space. <br />MemberKlausing noted that in #12 there should not be square feet of area, but a <br />percentage of the principle structure. <br />MemberRhody suggested less impervious surface be allowed in order to reduce <br />surface water runoff. <br />MemberKlausing asked if the Planning Commission should have a subcommittee <br />to review this case. <br />The Planning Commission asked staff to convene subcommittee to discuss issues. <br />No public comment was offered; Chair Rhody closed the hearing. <br />Motion: <br /> (Restated) Member Mulder moved, Member Klausing seconded, to table <br />the public hearing on Planning File 3023 to the Planning Commission’s next regular <br />meeting of October 14, 1998, at which time staff is to address questions presented <br />by Planning Commission members and subcommittee. <br />Motion carried 6-0 <br />7 <br />
