<br />Member Mulder suggested removing the number of annual cremations from the conditions (supported by Commission). <br /> <br />Member Duncan explained why he supported a body number, including the limiting of the size of building and operation <br />expansion. Thomas Paschke explained how to revoke or amend the CUP. A condition for two burners could be added <br />(supported by Commission). <br /> <br />Member Duncan asked if the operation must meet the specifications of the manufacturer. (yes) <br /> <br />Member Wilke noted that the city normally does not specify a "model". <br /> <br />Member Traynor asked for clarifications of the two-year permit and possible modifications to the requirements of the CUP. <br /> <br />Vote on original motion as amended: <br /> <br />Ayes: 7 <br /> <br />Nays: 0 <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Ten Minute Recess <br /> <br />6 (b) Planning File 3323: A request by Paul Grotenhuis for a Variance from Section 703.04B1a (driveway apron width <br />in the public right-of-way) of the Roseville City Code on property located <br /> <br />Chair Rhody opened the hearing and requested Thomas Paschke to provide a verbal summary of the project report dated <br />July 11, 2001. <br /> <br />Thomas Paschke explained that Paul Grotenhuis for a 17 -foot Variance from Section 703.04B1 a of the City Code to allow <br />a driveway apron in the public right-of-way to be increased from the required 26-foot maximum width to a width of 48 feet. <br />He explained the up-hill grade (slope) difficulties on this site, with an angle of drive that allows for better access to the site. <br />Staff recommended approval. <br /> <br />Mr. Paul Grotenhuis answered questions and explained a modification that would allow a 13 to 14 foot variance. Member <br />Mulder stated the proposed variance could be up to 17 feet. Deb Bloom said the staff could help adjust this driveway in <br />the field. <br /> <br />Member Olson asked if there was a problem accessing the hill and driveway in winter (no). The adjacent neighbor accepts <br />the alignment of the driveway. <br /> <br />There were no comments. Chair Rhody closed the hearing. <br /> <br />Motion: Member Mulder moved, seconded by Member Wilke, to recommend approval of the request by Paul Grotenhuis <br />for a variance to Section 703.04B1 a of the City Code, said variance not to exceed 17 feet to allow an increase in the <br />required driveway apron within a public right-of-way from 26 feet to 43 feet for property located at 3175 West Owasso <br />Boulevard, based on the findings in Section 3 of the project report dated July 11,2001. <br /> <br />Ayes: 7 <br /> <br />Nays: 0 <br /> <br />Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />6(c) Planning File 3320: A request by Douglas Root Variance from Section 1004.01A7 (Location) of the Roseville City <br />Code to allow construction of a detached garage on property located at 2468 Hamline Avenue. <br /> <br />Chair Rhody opened the hearing and requested Thomas Paschke to provide a verbal summary of the project report dated <br />July 11, 2001. <br /> <br />Thomas Paschke explained that Douglas Root is requesting a variance from Section 1 004.01A7 (Location) and <br />1004.01 A 10 (Height) to allow construction of a 24 foot by 26 foot (624 square foot) detached garage.
