<br />City of Roseville <br /> <br />Planning Commission Meeting <br /> <br />Wednesday, June 4, 2003 <br /> <br />1. Call to Order <br /> <br />Chairman Duncan called the regular meeting of the City of Roseville Planning Commission to order at 6:30 p.m., in the <br />City Council Chambers. <br /> <br />2. Roll Call <br /> <br />Present: Ipsen, Traynor, Bakeman, Peper, Duncan, Stone <br />Absent: Mulder <br />Staff present: Dennis Welsch, Thomas Paschke, Deb Bloom <br />Council present: None <br /> <br />3. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Motion: Member Bakeman moved, seconded by Member Traynor, to approve the minutes of the May 7, 2003 <br />meeting of the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Ayes: 4 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Abstain: 2 (Duncan, Stone) <br />Motion carried <br /> <br />4. Communications from the Public <br /> <br />Roger Toogood, 601 Terrace Court. <br />Mr. Toogood described a request for increasing the size of street numbers. He requested new and renovated structures of <br />four inch letters. He submitted a resolution (January 15, 2003) to this from the Roseville Citizen Council for Fair and Open <br />government. He displayed a 3" and a 4" sized letter. A copy of the Woodbury Code was distributed. Location, lighting, <br />legibility are important issues and should be implemented with new and reconstructed names and businesses. The aging <br />of the community may require street sign enlargement as well. <br />Mary Bakeman asked if street signs have all been replaced. <br />Member Stone requested a comparison with the new Minnesota Uniform Fire Code. <br />No action was required. <br /> <br />5. Consent Agenda: (The Planning Commission may decide upon the issues listed in the Consent Agenda with one motion, <br />without further discussion.) <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />6. Hearings <br />a. Planning File 3478: Request by Bernard and Kathy Laur, 600 Sextant Avenue, for a VARIANCE to Section <br />1 004.01A6 (Maximum Total Surface Area) to allow construction of a 15 foot by 15 foot four-season porch <br />on the rear of the home. <br /> <br />Chair Duncan opened the hearing and requested City Planner Thomas Paschke provide a summary of the project <br />report dated June 4, 2003. <br />
