She opposes <br />the request for a front setback variance. <br /> <br />Member Traynor explained that this front porch extension is most objectionable and unique in the neighborhood. <br /> <br />Member Duncan asked what was the undue hardship (as per Section _ of the staff report). Member Stone noted <br />essential character, reasonable use; plight is beyond property owner's control. Planning File 3486: Request by John Meyer, 2735 Fernwood Street, for a VARIANCE to Section 1004.01A6 <br />(Maximum Total Surface Area) to allow for the reconstruction of a wider driveway on the premises. <br /> <br />Chair Duncan opened the hearing and requested City Planner Thomas Paschke provide a summary of the project <br />report dated June 4, 2003. <br /> <br />Thomas Paschke indicated that John Meyer, 2735 Fernwood Street, seeks approval of a variance to Section <br />1004.01 A6 (Maximum Total Surface Area) of the Roseville City Code to allow the replacement and expansion of <br />his existing driveway, which improvement will increase the impervious coverage on the parcel (11,985 sq. ft.) from <br />the allowable amount of 3,596 square feet (30%) to 4,483 square feet (37%). <br /> <br />The proposed improvement would expand the driveway to the north approximately 10 feet at the front (east) <br />property line and 5 feet at the garage (west). The proposed expanded driveway will be set back a minimum of 5 <br />feet from the side yard (north) property line. <br />
