Revised 10/24/02
Roseville Public Works and Transportation Commission
Meeting Minutes

Thursday, September 26, 2002, at 7:00 p.m.
City Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive
Roseville, Minnesota 55113

1.Introductions/Roll Call

Commission members present: Todd Anderson, Mihai Marasteanu,
Joseph Rossini, Ernest Willenbring, Doug Wilke

Staff present: Duane Schwartz, Public Works Director; Frank Gaillard,
Public Works Superintendent; Steve Zweber, Streets Supervisor; Tim
Pratt, Recycling Coordinator

2.Public Comments

None

3.Communication Items

Anderson questioned where these items came from. Duane explained that
the mayor e-mailed articles he thought were of interest.

Schwartz commented on the County Road C project that the Council has
directed us to look into burying the power lines and has asked Xcel to
replace the lattice poles with new more attractive poles, the cost of which
would be assessed to the users. Willenbring asked if they factor in the
cost of less maintenance. Schwartz responded that Xcel isn’t a big
champion of burying. They assess the difference of the city moving
versus burying, and we’d have to inquire about maintenance cost
difference.

4.Approval of August Meeting Minutes

Member Anderson moved to approve the minutes of August 22, 2002, of
the Public Works/Transportation Commission. Member Rossini
seconded.

Ayes: 5
Nays: 0
Motion carried.
